Creating Custom Touches in a Home
When the owners of Tallgrass Home purchased this spec home in the 90s, they had children living at home and selected it based on the neighborhood, location and schools. As their children grew up and left for new endeavors, the empty nesters decided it was time to refresh their home and add some custom touches to it.
They began to research for a company to remodel, and when asking friends in the area, they learned of Colby Construction. The outstanding reviews led them to Pete and his team, and, after a meeting, they knew this was who they wanted to create their new space.
The heart of the remodel would consist mainly of two areas: the kitchen and the master suite, with a few details in the family and dining rooms.
The kitchen is a gathering space and the heart of the home. The couple wanted to open it up and give it a warm feeling where their friends and family could gather and come together.
Opening up the space and giving a new, clean, updated look completely changed the feel of the space. The couple is thrilled with their new kitchen.
The second space that they really wanted to completely remodel was their first level master suite. When the Colby team started working in the bedroom, they discovered and uncovered an area of mold. The family had no idea this was there and were grateful to the knowledgeable team that patiently took care of the problem.
The master bath is now one of the favorite rooms in the house! After removing a soaking tub, it opened up the space to put in a dream walk-in shower and double vanity. The heated flooring makes the cold Wisconsin winter mornings bearable!
In the words of the homeowner, when asked if she would recommend Colby Construction: “I would shout you [Colby Construction] all off the rooftops. You [Colby Construction] stood by us in the bad and good, and the design and attention to detail was wonderful.”
