When designing their custom lake home with Colby Construction, the owners of Blackhawk knew just what they wanted the home to be. But this was their dream lake home, not only for today, but as the home they would retire in. This created a challenge; today they want their master bedroom suite on the second floor facing the lake. Would they want their master suite on the second floor in the years to come, and how could they plan now for the future?
Build Your Custom Lake Home for Today and Beyond
The solution? A hall closet on the main floor and hall closest on the second floor that are pre-measured and structured as an elevator shaft. If and when the need arises, the owner can simply install an elevator making the second story master suite always accessible to them, whatever the future holds.
It was also important when designing the second story master suite that they use the unique roof lines to create a suite that was spacious, yet cozy. Their desires included a gas fireplace with a remote control, a master bathroom with a large walk in shower, and spacious his and hers walk-in closets. They wanted to use the space creatively without having a room that felt oversized or overdone. The results were perfect for them.
Colby Construction takes the time to look at their customers’ individual desires and needs and implement a plan to build your custom lake home that works not only today, but also into the future.
