It’s been several years since this family began their relationship with Colby Construction. Over six years ago the homeowners hired the custom home builder to update their walk-out lower level to better suit the family needs as the children grew into teenagers. They replace playrooms with game rooms and updated the entire space, adding another bathroom, sleeping area, and more.

They were so happy with their remodel that a few years ago they decided to remodel the upstairs bedrooms and bathrooms, removing the shared Jack and Jill bathrooms and giving the teens their own private bathrooms and additional closet and storage areas.

The family loved the updates so much that when they decided the main level of the home had become dated and didn’t function with their lifestyle, once again they turned to Colby Construction to take on the project. The scope of the remodel was greater than the others, requiring the family to move out of the home for the full gutting of the home. One of the major undertakings was replacing the windows to open up their breathtaking lake views, allowing the floor to ceiling light in the home as well.

The original home was broken up with small rooms and walls, so the remodel opened up the kitchen, living and dining room areas and the front foyer as well. This allowed for a sweeping kitchen island as a centerpiece of the home. Other additions included a butler’s pantry, a wet bar, and a new drop area complete with lockers at the garage entry.

The home office was moved to the backside of the house allowing for a new master suite that allowed space for a relaxing seating area complete with a fireplace. The master bathroom included a new large walk-in tiled shower by freeing up the space that once contained a jacuzzi tub.

There are so many unique features to the home, making the space truly a Colby Construction custom dream home.
