We love summer in southeastern Wisconsin—there is no question about that—but as the hot summer days slowly slide into the routine of fall, the change of pace and temperatures are welcomed.
Fall in Southeastern Wisconsin, a Perfect Season in Your Custom Lake Home
While there are so many things to love about autumn in the Lake Country and southeastern Wisconsin, living in a custom lake home allows you to enjoy this season even more. If you are considering building a new custom home you may want to take into consideration these features to make this season even more spectacular in your new space!
1.) Outdoor Fires: Backyard bonfires are perfect in your custom firepit or fireplace. The crackling noise and smell of an outdoor fire in the fall brings back magical memories of burning leaves, high school bonfires and cool nights cozied up outside. While we enjoy our outdoor fires in the summer months, there is just something special about fall fires.
2.) Get out on the lake: The less crowded lakes make fall the perfect time to get out and fish! Or put on an extra layer and get out in the kayak or a take a sunset cruise on the pontoon boat before you pull it out for the season. The changing colors of the leaves from the lakeside make it a spectacular place to be.
3.) Open the windows: Your custom lake home is filled with beautiful windows and incredible views. Fall is the time to open the windows up and let the cool autumn breeze flow through.
4.) Fall baking and cooking: Retreat to your custom kitchen and let the wonderful fragrances of fall fill your home as you bake apple and pumpkin desserts. With a pot of chili or beef stew simmering on the stove top, the smell alone will have your family gathering around to enjoy the homemade meal.
5.) Football: Fall in Wisconsin means football! Invite your friends and family over to gather in your living room, bar room or theater to cheer on the Badgers and Packers!
It’s easy to understand why enjoying the change of season in your custom lake home is such any easy thing to do. If you are looking to venture out, there are so many things southeastern Wisconsin has to offer in this color season. Venture out to explore the community and state knowing your home awaits at the end of the day.
Here are a few fall favorites!
1.) A fall drive down a rustic road: Get out and enjoy the back roads in the country. There are over 100 rustic routes in the state, and you will be sure to enjoy the incredible changing colors as you make your way driving down them. Stop along the route and take a hike, crunching the fallen leaves under foot and breathing in the fresh air.
2.) Beer festivals: Wisconsin is home to many breweries, large and small, and with the fall comes the Oktoberfest celebrations and festivities. You can be sure to find one in most communities in late September and October. Don’t forget to enjoy a brat to go along with that beer!
3.) Apple orchards and pumpkin farms: Be sure to stop by and support your local farmer and pick some delicious honey crisps. Find the perfect pumpkins for your front porch and for upcoming Halloween. Many farms offer hayrides, cider and homemade pie as well.
The fact is, fall is simply a breathtaking season in Wisconsin, so whether you want to stay and enjoy all your home has to offer or get out and enjoy one of the many activities happening, there is something for everyone.
