Colby’s Story
Owner Pete Feichtmeier joined Colby Construction in 1989. Pete began his career after college in retail as a buyer, where he learned the ins and outs of sales, distribution, marketing and working with contractors and vendors. Through this he came to have a relationship with Colby Construction founder, Steve Colby. Pete joined the Colby Construction family focusing on the development of the Single Family Custom Home division. Pete became a full partner and president of Colby Construction in 1992 and sole owner of the company in 1994. In 2022, Jim Angle, longtime employee at Colby, joined the team as a partner to carry on the Colby Construction legacy of timeless custom homes for years to come.

Colby Construction has become the premiere builder of luxury custom lake homes in southeastern Wisconsin.
Colby Construction has been a member of the Metropolitan Builders Association since 1989, participating in MBA sponsored events such as the Home Builders Expo, the Spring Tour and the Parade of Homes. Pete has served as chairperson for Parade of Homes and president of the Metropolitan Builders Association.

Colby Construction has built some of the most beautiful Lake Country custom lake homes in the area. Unique to Colby Construction, we employ our own staff of finish craftsmen with the experience and talent to make each custom lake home unique. A group of carefully selected subcontractors also plays a critical role in providing quality, value and efficient production.
