What makes you feel like summer more than sitting on a porch, feeling the breeze or enjoying a family dinner el fresco? A screened-in porch allows you to make your outdoor space a full addition to your custom home. The mosquitoes and bugs can be awful in Wisconsin in the summer months and can make it almost unbearable to be outdoors. When the owners of Hidden Treasure designed their new home, they planned the home to have the outdoor space an addition to their home that they could truly enjoy.

A Custom Porch

The large porch runs to the full length of the home, giving ample space of relaxing and dining. With two pre-teens in the house, a carefully thought-out shower was even included, the perfect spot for showering off when coming off the lake. This inviting space makes a perfect place to gather friends and family, enjoy a meal or a drink and take in the great food, time with loved ones and beautiful lake views.

An Outdoor Fire Pit

Along with the screen porch, an outdoor fire pit was a must-have for this family. S’mores around a campfire and a gathering space on cool summer nights allows for another outdoor space to entertain and to relax. This family will enjoy using the outdoor fire pit well into the fall!

Interior Elegance

From the moment you step through the door, the calm serenity of the color pallet, combined with the crystal chandeliers and the marble counter tops, you feel a sense of calm fill you inside. The details that Colby Construction brought into the home truly exceeded the desires of the owners in making this their dream home. Their vision was very clear and well thought out, and Colby was able to build that vision, from the custom-built dining room table to the mirrored cabinets and built-in wet bar, every detail worked together perfectly.

There were challenges going into the project, including a high-water level due to the proximity of the lake. The home would not be able to have a full basement, but the owners wanted a place that they truly would “live” in and utilize all of the space. The lot also did not permit for a large garage. These challenges were creatively handled and the architect, owners and Colby Construction all worked together to provide the dream home that is now The Hidden Pearl. A four-foot basement was poured, and a hidden door allows this space to be used for more than just storage. Because of the lot shape and proximity to the road, the location only allowed for a two car garage. As an alternative, a gorgeous stand-alone garage was created, and the “garage” includes space for a wine cellar and gathering area. It’s a perfect place to entertain, just steps from the home.

Hidden Treasure

The lakeside of the Hidden Treasure is truly the “front” of the home and allows for taking all the advantages of the warm weather months and lake living. When designing and decorating the porch and patio, the goal of the owners was to create an inviting space that makes you feel like you are on vacation all year long. Colby Construction listened to this family’s desires, and we think that is exactly what was achieved!

The interior of Hidden Treasure is breathtaking and the home met the goal of the owners: a  home that fits the description, “Lake Elegance”.

Lake elegance was absolutely achieved in this custom designed lake home, and the name The Hidden Treasure describes it perfectly.
